As we grow up....

we learn that even the one person that was never supposed to let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken, and break the hearts of others. You'll fight with your best friend, or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take many pictures, laugh to much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time-outs. no second chances, you just have to live life to the fullest. tell someone what they mean to you, and your loved ones that they're love. Speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold some one's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry, or up set is a second of happiness you can never get back.

  1. I agree with all of it except, telling someone off. I think we should be fair and be treated fairly but, telling someone off sounds a bit harsh. Speaking our minds with respect is maybe what you meant. Thanks for all you do for us Emily! Love you!

  2. Dear Em,

You posted a few days ago that you felt this blog was becoming a very lonely place, so I decided to try to actually post more instead of just lurking. I don't want to see this blog disappear.

Can you explain what is behind the above post? I've had some trouble in the past of deciphering exactly what is going on, hence no comments. (I can also understand if you are uncomfortable in elaorating since we commentors are truely anonymous while you are not.)

  3. Anonymous- You are totally right. I don't like that part I changed it. Thank you for your honesty.

Nothing deep really. It just reminds me to stay in moment...because when we don't we miss them. Thank you for posting as I believe it is the readers that make this blog, not I.

    xo, em

  4. I agree; the telling someone off comment didn't make sense to me, but I love the rest. But so what if there is one tiny part of a post that is confusing?

I agree that I don't want Emily's blog to disappear; I think there are many people who follow but don't comment often (I'm one of them). I hope this blog continues, because I find it very helpful and I know others do, too.

  5. This one had my name all over it; I don't think I'm and alcoholic but exhibit many behaviors. a family history of drunks, sluts , nuts and addicts. I don't fit into the groups, their issues are far greater than anything I experience. Been to Al-Anon, still not a fit. I need you to come to my town, my place and figure it out. Help! don' know how to reach out to the appropriate people. I'm stuck.
