Eating Healthy

If you've read the whole blog you know I am a big fan of chocolate,
huge fan, espically while your going through detox. But it is also
important to eat healthy in sobriety. I don't know about you but how I
eat affects my mental health. I have been eating so crappy and feel so
crappy because of it that I'm going to have to do a food detox...(the
south beach diet) for a few weeks. The first few days are harsh and
I'm a mean, crabby, little mess. But after a few days I start feeling
a million times better.

I feel crappy today guys, really crappy and I am not really impressed
to say it's because I'm eating junkie! But that's enough kicking my
own butt. How are you all doing?

  1. hi Emily, I know how you feel. I love to eat healthy, I just don't take enough time to prepare for it. It's funny you are going on you "food detox" I will be starting this Friday. I just have to finish up my work for school, this class kicked my butt!! I was so focused in on trying not to drink and go to meetings that I just let everything go. Now that this class is done, I will have more time to take care of myself and go to all the meetings I want!! I'll be crying about the healthy detox soon, I know, but eating right does help the mind and body!! Take care of your self and don't beat yourself up to much!!! UGH!! Got to run off to work!!

I would just like to say that this blog is a big source of therapy for me....I'm still struggling myself, but reading all of your posts has definitely helped me....the honesty and courage that you guys have shown inspires me tremendously.....I pray that I too can be this honest "out loud" very soon! Prayers for everyone's continued sobriety! xo

    I am new at this too - I do know that it is important to let the "hidden" out - So get the fear and struggle as well - Keep coming back - I have been so encouraged and challenged by so many here - Prayers to you
