Invasion of Privacy

I was doing much better after my meeting, then I came home to a complete invasion of my privacy. I know that by putting yourself out there publicly you take the risk of having people think it okay to contact you in anyway they see fit, it is not okay with me!

If you are a woman looking for help or support, know you can contact me anytime you want pretty much in any way you want. You are why I do this, you are a blessing to me and to the other people on this site.

If you are a man looking for a date or a pen pal and don't know me in real life, unless you have incredible sobriety, pay your child support in abundance and on time, are adorable and wonderful and could give me a letter of recommendation from your ex wife, I'm not your girl:)

  1. Hi, Emily --

I'm Anonymous #1 from earlier posts, and I did always wonder if you would have uninvited invasions of privacy because you went public -- I had hoped not. I hope you are OK. Please know that you truly are helping people (like me, but I am not as successful as you yet). I hope there's a way that your privacy can be restored so you are not bothered by attention you don't want.

I will pray tonight for you and thank God for your courage and strength.

  3. Unfortunately, as I tell my clients, there is no such thing as complete internet privacy. The down side of our global internet. I am sorry you had to experience the creep-factor. That is one reason I'm glad I'm not a hollywood movie star...I'd end up shooting someone. :-D

  4. Hi, Annette --

Thanks for asking -- I would love to be able to post that I haven't had a drink for xxx days, but it wouldn't be true. I'm trying; Randy's earlier post about Satan on one shoulder and God on the other is very helpful to me. Some days are very easy for me, others are not.

Someone in town I know through my work died of liver failure last month at the age of 38 -- I learned he was a severe alcoholic, although I never saw any signs of it; single dad to 3 kids, the oldest of which is in high school. School was very, very hard for him, but I was so impressed with how he didn't give up -- he wanted to set a good example for his kids. He held a good job for the last 8 years or so, thought about graduate school, again, to set an example for his kids. To my knowledge, he's the first person I know personally who has died from alcoholism. My heart aches, what a tragedy, especially for his kids...
