Not Looking Pretty

I just woke up from a very deep afternoon nap. I'm not sure if it's my PMS, the full moon or if I am hiding from the New Year. But whatever it is, it's not looking pretty.

I have a crap load of New Year's resolutions or goals, or whatever you want to call them spinning through my head. Become fully self supporting, start working out, quit smoking, get my house organized, find a new boyfriend, divorce myself from self pity and self seeking motives. Kind of putting a little pressure on myself you think. I am flipping going to get back in bed and sleep this out!

What are some of your resolutions or goals for the New Year?

  1. Hi, Emily --

    I appreciate the burdens you feel. While I can't take any away, I can offer you a little music that might lighten your load. I find that good music always makes me feel better. Check out this: http://www.myspace.com/trespassmusic1. Click on the song by Larry Zarella ("LZ"). I can't believe he's not famous yet. You can also google him and find other songs he's composed, plays and sings. If you love dogs (and I think you have a yellow lab?), you might chuckle at "Me and Jane Rosetti." While Larry doesn't know me, he used to play in Alaska a lot, and I saw him many times when I used to work there. He's an amazing talent. Should have been discovered ages ago.

    In any event, if his music brings the slightest smile to your mind, then I'm happy. I can't think of anything else to offer you, except my prayers and love...Take care, be easy on yourself, and happy new year --

  3. I plan to stay sober as well;
    Go to at least 5 meetings per week (I'm a newbie - remember);
    Get back in the gym for at least an hour 5 days/week;
    Start doing some type of volunteer work in my area;
    Spending at least an hour of my own time everyday working on my program.

    Happy New Year to all my New Friends!!! Love - Annette

  4. I am planning on starting my path to sobriety in 2010. Emily, I admire you so much for being sober. Everything else (to me) is icing on the cake. I have struggled with this for over 15 years!! I do work out. Don't smoke. Can't support myself tho :) Be kind to yourself. Sobriety is HUGE.
