I am taking requests and suggestions for Sobriety Sunday. Do you have any questions? Would you like me to share about a certain problem or feeling or topic? Or I could share from my journal on whatever month most people are in (2 months sober, 12 months sober etc.) You can leave me your suggestion in the comment section below or email them to me at

  1. I don't know how much this applies to you, but I'm really curious about the defensiveness of the main alcoholic in my life (sort of). Any time a conversation doesn't go his way, he will fly off the handle and start shouting, "Are you accusing me of drinking? Why is everybody always accusing me of drinking?". And then, of course, there are the many times he is obviously drunk when he swears up and down he hasn't been drinking (and this has even happened when there's a wine bottle in his hand). I just don't understand. I want to support his sobriety and him in any way I can, and hearing your take on how to deal with the question of a relapse and an alcoholic's response to people trying to support him would be very helpful for me and, if he is any indication, many others. Thanks : )

  2. It's hard to be supportive of someones sobriety when they aren't sober. I have journals and journals of the pain I went through with my x-alcoholic. I usually only share journal entries about myself, but I asked him and he said he didn't mind. I know a lot of people suffer because of a loved ones drinking so I will make that tomorrows focus. 3. God bless you women of strength. I was in an emotionally abusive marriage for 21 years. Had 2 teenagers and a cheating husband. I filed for divorce Dec. 15,2008. Divorce was granted March 6 2009. I went to alcoholism rehab March 13,2009 for a 34 day inpatient treatment. I was the saddest excuse for a human being ever. I have now been sober for over 8 months. I am back in school full time. I was just inducted into the honor society at my local community college I am attending. I am rid of an extra 200 lbs. worth of male weight I should have shed long ago. I am monetarily struggling but am richer than I have ever been. If I can do it you can do it!!!! My relationships get better with my children every day. Other than the grace of God do you know why I can stay sober every day? Because I no longer have to carry the hate in my heart anymore. Have a blessed Thanksgiving. Velvet
